Shop Hand

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Shop Hand to support our client in the timber industry, in Sherwood. The Shop Hand will assist with various tasks around the machine shop, including material handling, equipment maintenance, and supporting machinists with their daily operations. This role is essential for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist machinists with setting up and operating manual and CNC machines.
• Handle and transport materials and finished products within the shop.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
• Help with loading and unloading deliveries.
• Organize and maintain inventory of tools, materials, and supplies.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
• Support quality control efforts by inspecting parts and reporting any issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of machining processes and equipment.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
• Commitment to safety and following established procedures.
