Shop Helper or Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Full time| $16- $25+ / hour |Scott, LA

 

We are hiring a reliable Shop Helper / Mechanic to support fleet and equipment maintenance operations in Scott, LA. This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined and looking to grow into a long-term role in a busy shop environment.

 

Shop Helper Responsibilities:

• Assist mechanics with repairs and general maintenance
• Keep shop clean, organized, and stocked with supplies
• Support daily operations with general labor tasks

Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on fleet vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on trucks and heavy equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems
• Complete repairs efficiently to reduce downtime

 

Qualifications: 

• Experience with heavy equipment (excavators, trucks, compressors, etc.).

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

• Detail-oriented with strict safety awareness. Reliable, punctual, and team oriented.

• Steel-toed boots required.

 

Schedule:

•  M-F 7-5, occasional Saturdays not frequent

 

 

Pay:

• $20 - $25+ / hour
