Job Summary:

The Safety Director & Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for overseeing workplace safety and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations while managing procurement activities for the warehouse. This role focuses on implementing safety programs, conducting training, and maintaining a secure work environment while also handling purchasing processes to ensure efficiency in warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Management:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Lead safety training programs, including proper equipment use, emergency response, and accident prevention.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness among all employees.

Purchasing & Inventory Control:

  • Manage procurement of warehouse supplies, tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and operational materials.
  • Research, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels to support production and warehouse needs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain issues.
  • Work with department heads to forecast material needs and streamline purchasing processes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Previous experience in safety management and purchasing within a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety protocols, and risk management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with vendor management.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
  • Certifications in safety (e.g., OSHA 30/OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR) are a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to loud machinery, temperature variations, and physical labor.
  • Standing, walking, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats.
