Express Employment Brighton/Howell is seeking several skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operators to join a client in Brighton, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and other material handling equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. This role is critical in ensuring that our shipping and receiving processes run smoothly, while adhering to all safety protocols.
This role is a contract to hire with goal to get you hired in after completion of hours. Also, must be open to completing a forklift test on site at the client facility.

1st shift; Monday to Friday
Pay rate: $20 hr.

This position requires own transportation and drivers license, high school diploma or GED, and can work in a fast pace work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks, cherry pickers, and order pickers, to load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
• Perform order picking tasks accurately to fulfill shipping requirements.
• Assist in shipping and receiving operations by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while operating equipment.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Forklift Operator or in a warehouse environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with various types of forklifts, including cranes, clamp trucks, and cherry pickers.
• Experience in shipping and receiving processes is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
