Accounts Receivable Specialist

Pay Range: $22/hour to $26/hour DOE
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a local independent plumbing wholesale distributor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing customer payments, reconciling accounts, managing collections, and ensuring accurate financial records. This position offers the opportunity to job shadow retiring employees over the next few months, making it ideal for someone serious about long-term employment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Count cash and reconcile to order entry cash drawer balance report daily.

• Post customer payments in an accurate and timely manner.

• Address account issues and mediate resolutions with customers.

• Prepare daily bank deposit slips and coordinate with the Finance Department.

• Contact customers regarding account discrepancies and facilitate corrective actions.

• Reconcile accounts and assist with collections on delinquent invoices.

• Enter accounts receivable transactions, credits, and invoices.

• Process bank card payments and apply transactions.

• Generate and review financial reports related to accounts receivable.

• Operate within company credit policy guidelines and recommend necessary adjustments.

• Maintain credit risk levels and assist with the collection process for delinquent accounts.

• Work with sales and general managers to ensure credit quality.

Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED required (Associate’s degree preferred).

• Minimum of 2 years in a similar role (3-5 years preferred).

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and business math.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Effective problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to handle difficult customer interactions with diplomacy and tact.
