Accounts Payable Specialist

Pay: $22-$26/hr DOE
Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join a local independent plumbing wholesale distributor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing vendor invoices accurately and efficiently while maintaining vendor accounts and ensuring compliance with corporate policies. This position offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced employees and transition smoothly into a long-term role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and pay vendor invoices in a timely manner
• Maximize vendor cash discounts in line with corporate policies
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents
• Maintain vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Review accounts payable entries for accuracy and make corrections as needed
• Balance vendor statements and reconcile discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years in a similar role (3-5+ years preferred)
• High school diploma/GED required (Associate’s degree preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles
