Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatcher to join our team in managing and coordinating the transportation of chemical and bulk materials. The ideal candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of goods while complying with regulatory standards. The Dispatcher will coordinate with drivers, customers, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and handle any logistical challenges that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dispatch and Coordination:

   • Schedule and dispatch drivers for transportation of chemical and bulk materials based on customer needs and delivery timelines.
   • Ensure that all loads are compliant with DOT, EPA, and other regulatory requirements for hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
   • Provide real-time updates to customers and management regarding shipment statuses, delays, or route changes.

2. Route Optimization:

   • Plan and optimize delivery routes for efficiency, considering factors such as traffic, weather, and delivery windows.
   • Monitor vehicle progress and adjust plans as necessary to minimize delays and reduce costs.

3. Communication:

   • Serve as the main point of contact between drivers, customers, and the company.
   • Communicate effectively with drivers to address issues, provide directions, and ensure that safety protocols are followed.
   • Coordinate with customer service and operations teams to resolve any concerns or issues related to deliveries.

4. Safety and Compliance:

   • Ensure that drivers follow all safety procedures when transporting hazardous or bulk materials.
   • Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for the transport of chemicals and bulk products.
   • Maintain records of safety inspections, driver logs, and delivery documentation.

5. Problem-Solving:

   • Address and resolve any issues related to driver availability, mechanical failures, delays, or route disruptions.
   • Proactively resolve customer complaints and concerns related to shipping or delivery.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain accurate records of dispatched shipments, including delivery confirmations, driver logs, and incident reports.
   • Prepare reports on fleet performance, delivery timeliness, and customer satisfaction metrics.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
• Previous experience in dispatching or logistics, preferably in the transportation of chemical or bulk materials.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for hazardous materials.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations with professionalism.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with hazardous material transportation or tankers.
• Familiarity with route planning and GPS systems.
• Knowledge of chemical and bulk transportation industry regulations.
