Job Title: Production Supervisor (Afternoon Shift)

Location: Woodbridge, ON

Company Overview: Our client is a well-established piping manufacturer located in Woodbridge, ON. They are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Production Supervisor to oversee their manufacturing operations on the afternoon shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM). The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to motivate a team, and a commitment to continuous improvement in production processes.


Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily production operations to meet production targets, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, quality assurance) to ensure smooth production flow and address any issues that may impact productivity.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with supply chain/logistics to ensure timely material availability.

Team Supervision:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement training programs to support staff skill development.
  • Schedule and assign tasks based on team skill levels, availability, and workload requirements.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all production processes adhere to established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and address quality control issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to conduct regular audits and inspections.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote a culture of safety by enforcing health and safety policies and conducting regular safety briefings.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Investigate incidents and implement measures to mitigate future risks.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Lead or participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
  • Monitor production metrics, analyze data, and report on performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
