Patient Account Coordinator

Located in Dubuque, IA

Salary: $18-$24+/hr

We are seeking an experienced Patient Account Coordinator to work for a local company. The role focuses on insurance and billing services, delivering excellent customer service, and providing clerical and administrative support to the office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Post daily charges and payments to patient accounts
• Assist with insurance claim submissions, including prior authorizations
• Manage patient billing inquiries and provide financial consultations
• Ensure CDT and ICD-10 coding competency
• Generate and manage monthly patient statements
• Implement billing and collection policies
• Handle daily deposits and submit to the bank
• Maintain confidentiality in all patient and office matters
• Assist with scheduling, chart management, and correspondence
• Support quality assurance and improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Experience with insurance billing (dental and medical)
• Strong accounting knowledge, with QuickBooks experience preferred
• Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Detail-oriented with good financial management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma required; post-graduate education preferred
• Minimum of 1-year experience in billing/collections within the medical/dental field
