Location: Shawnee Mission, KS
Pay: $21.00/hr, paid weekly
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

A local Shawnee Mission company specializing in the manufacturing and design of concrete forms is seeking a skilled Steel Welder to join their team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on welding and fabrication work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Job Summary

As a Steel Welder, you will perform welding and fabrication tasks on steel components and structures. Your work will ensure the strength, quality, and integrity of welded joints while supporting the overall production process.

Key Responsibilities

• Welding & Fabrication: Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and ARC techniques to join steel components and structures. Follow welding procedures and specifications to ensure quality and durability.

• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements for each project.

• Material Preparation: Clean, cut, and shape steel materials as needed. Ensure proper fit-up and alignment before welding.

• Weld Inspection: Inspect welds for quality, identify defects, and make adjustments as necessary.

• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean welding tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning. Report any malfunctions to the supervisor.

• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during welding operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of steel welding experience or similar welding role.

• Proficient in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.

• Familiarity with different types of steel and welding characteristics.

• Strong knowledge of welding safety procedures and practices.

• Attention to detail to ensure high-quality welds.

• Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
