Job Title: Cook Assistant / Kitchen Assistant

Pay: $15 - $16 DOE

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cook Assistant to support kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all food safety standards are followed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining high standards of food quality and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist cooks with food preparation, including chopping, portioning, and basic cooking tasks

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines at all times

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils

• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies

• Support meal service by plating, garnishing, and preparing items as directed

• Dispose of waste properly and maintain a clean and organized workspace

• Follow recipes and instructions provided by kitchen leadership

• Comply with company policies and health department regulations

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid Food Handler’s Certificate (required)

• Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred but not required

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25–40 lbs as needed

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

• Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required
