Responsibilities:

• Setup and Operation:

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices.
• Machining:
• Operate manual lathes to turn, bore, thread, face, and groove metal workpieces.
• Monitor machine operation to ensure the quality of machined parts.
• Make adjustments to the machine as needed to maintain precision and accuracy.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
• Use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions.
• Troubleshooting:
• Identify and troubleshoot issues with machine tools and make necessary adjustments.
• Perform routine maintenance on manual lathes to ensure optimal performance.
