A growing company in Newburyport, MA is looking for both apprentice and experienced woodworkers to join their team! 

 

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

1. -Follow instructions and learn architectural woodworking and cabinetry.
2. -Perform woodworking as directed by Shop Foreman.
3. -Set up and operate all equipment as directed.
4. -Be proficient in the following: milling lumber, panel processing, ripping, crosscutting, and sanding.
5. -Learn to read and understand blueprints.
6. -Develop an understanding of wood products and their characteristics and properties, as well as the uses of materials.
7. -Own tools as required by Shop Foreman.
8. -Be punctual and maintain consistent attendance. (Including occasional offered OT).
9. -Report any and all unsafe conditions and acts immediately to a supervisor or the Human Resource Manager.
10. -Maintain equipment in good working condition and perform general duties (cleaning work areas, replacing items used, etc.)
11. -Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the company handbook and safety manual.

 

Physical Requirements

• -Lifting, pushing and/or moving heavy objects
• -Walking, standing (on concrete floor for more than 8 hours per day), bending, stretching, and reaching
• -Manual hand dexterity
• -MUST be able to pass a 10-panel drug screening
•  

This position is full time, Monday-Friday. Pay starts will vary based on experience!
