Job Title: Machinist (Roller Journal Repairs & Machining)

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated machinist to join our team in the machine shop. The ideal candidate will have experience in roller journal repairs, welding, machining bearing surfaces, and cutting threads and keyways. The role involves working with precision tools and machinery to meet production standards. We are open to candidates at both senior and apprentice levels, provided they demonstrate self-starting capabilities and a solid understanding of machining principles and tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform roller journal repairs, including welding and machining of bearing surfaces.
• Cut threads and keyways with precision.
• Read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
• Set up and operate various machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) to achieve required specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery or equipment.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a machinist role, or completion of an apprenticeship in machining.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficient in welding, machining bearing surfaces, and cutting threads/keyways.
• Familiarity with machine shop tools, equipment, and materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work an 8-hour day shift.
