Flagger

Located in Delray Beach, FL

We are seeking a responsible and vigilant individual to fill the position of Flagger. As a Flagger, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of workers, pedestrians, and motorists in construction zones or areas with ongoing road work. Your primary duty will be to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around work zones, using hand signals, flags, and other signaling devices.

Responsibilities:

1. Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic safely around construction zones or work areas.
2. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of workers and the public.
3. Use hand signals, flags, paddles, or other signaling devices to communicate with motorists and pedestrians.
4. Coordinate with construction crews and supervisors to maintain efficient traffic flow while work is being performed.
5. Maintain clear communication with other flaggers and personnel working in the area.
6. Remain alert and attentive at all times to swiftly respond to changing traffic conditions and emergencies.
7. Ensure that all necessary safety equipment, such as cones, signs, and barriers, are properly deployed and maintained.
8. Provide assistance to disabled vehicles or individuals in need within work zones.
9. Report any incidents, hazards, or violations to supervisors or appropriate authorities.
10. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.

Requirements:

1. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
2. Certification in flagging procedures (may be obtained upon hiring).
3. Strong communication skills, including the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
4. Excellent situational awareness and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
5. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and work in varying weather conditions.
6. Basic knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
7. Prior experience in flagging or related field preferred but not required.
8. Willingness to undergo drug screening and background checks as part of the hiring process.

Working Conditions:

• Work primarily takes place outdoors in various weather conditions.
• May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on project schedules.
• Must adhere to strict safety protocols to minimize risks associated with traffic and construction activities.
