Position Title

Woodworking / Production Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate woodworking equipment including jointers, table saws, drill presses, and other shop tools.
  • Cut, shape, assemble, and finish wood components according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tape measure dimensions accurately.
  • Apply stains, paints, and protective finishes to completed products.
  • Assemble wood, metal, and electrical components as required.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Travel to customer sites, including churches, for installation and service work as needed.

Expected Results

  • Produce quality products that are square, level, plumb, and built to specification.
  • Take accurate measurements and minimize material waste.
  • Complete projects on schedule while maintaining craftsmanship standards.
  • Ensure finished products are ready for customer installation and use.

Skills Required

  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Experience operating table saws, jointers, drill presses, and power tools.
  • Finish application experience (stains, lacquers, paints, sealers).
  • Basic electrical knowledge, including DC current systems.
  • Woodworking and metalworking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Experience Required

  • Previous woodworking, carpentry, cabinetmaking, furniture manufacturing, millwork, or construction experience preferred.
  • Furniture makers are ideal candidates.
  • Candidates with hands-on hobby woodworking experience may be considered.
  • Electrical assembly or low-voltage wiring experience is a plus.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Trade school, vocational training, woodworking, carpentry, electrical, or construction training is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools throughout the workday.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in a production shop environment and on installation sites.
