Timber Cruiser / Forestry Analyst

Located in Beaverton, OR

If you enjoy working outdoors and using data to understand forest resources, this role offers a great mix of fieldwork and analysis. In this position, you’ll assist with timber cruising and valuation projects for a forestry consulting firm in the Portland area, helping assess timber stands and support land management decisions.

Duties:

• Conduct timber cruising to measure and evaluate forest stands
• Collect field data including tree species, height, diameter, and volume
• Assist with timber valuation and resource assessments
• Use mapping and GIS tools to support forestry data collection and analysis
• Record and organize field data accurately for reporting and analysis
• Work in outdoor environments across varying terrain and weather conditions
• Collaborate with forestry consultants to support project planning and timberland evaluations

Requirements:

• Degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field
• Reliable personal vehicle for travel to field locations
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with timber valuation or timberland appraisals
• Familiarity with GIS processing, including collecting, storing, analyzing, and visualizing geographic data
• Field experience with forestry measurements and data collection
