3rd Shift - Shag Driver 

A warehouse is looking to add a new shag driver to their team! This is an evaluation hire (potential direct placement for the right candidate), with room for advancement and growth opportunities.

Location: Tonganoxie, KS 

Pay: $21-23.50/hr

Schedule: Sunday - Friday, 11pm to 7 am

Key Responsibilities

•          Responsible for safely operating a tractor trailer within the confines of the property and is not allowed to operate the equipment outside of the property.
•          Shuttles empty and loaded trailers, moving trailers from loading dock to the yard and from the yard to the loading dock.
•          Must open and close the trailer doors, slide the tandems back before the trailer is put in the door to be loaded, must not travel over 15 miles per hour in the yard.
•          Moves loaded and empty trailers in and out of the docks.
•          Moves loaded and empty trailers for Hills when needed following safety procedures
•          Drives empty and loaded trailers within the confines of the property. NOT ALLOWED TO OPERATE on state and federal roadways.
•          Completes yard check daily to verify accuracy of the trailers in the yard.
•          Performs manual duties out of the truck as assigned (i.e. Trailer inspections, opening and closing trailer doors,).
•          Ensures product or equipment is inspected & free of damage or contamination.
•          Completes paperwork/documentation properly.
•          Uses a basic computer and or tablet for documentation purposes.
•          Operates handheld radio.
•          Daily housekeeping of the tractor being operated that day.
•          Reports any inconsistencies to the Traffic Coordinator.

Experience Required

•          One (1) year experience operating a yard hostler or similar equipment.
•          Valid Class driver’s license.
•          Must be able to meet insurance carriers’ criteria related to insurability.
•          Basic computer or tablet skills; hand-held radio.

Education Requirements

•        High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

Physical Requirements

•         Constantly - Sit
•         Frequently - Climb (into tractor trailer), Lift/Carry 0-60lbs, Push/Pull 41-100 lbs
•         Occasionally - Stand, Walk, Crawl, Squat or Kneel, Bend, Push/Pull 41-100 lbs
