We have an opening for a Hatchery Associate position working at poultry breeding facility located in Elkmont, AL. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.

 

*** THIS POSITION IS FLSA EXEMPT ***

 

Qualified candidates will be responsible for transferring eggs from the setter to the hatcher and will take care of cleaning and sanitizing machines, floors, walls and ceilings.

 

Skills/Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Must be able to complete repetitive work and stand for extended periods of time.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure.

Must be able to perform tasks with limited supervision.

Proven reliability in work attendance and willingness to give best effort.

Must have own reliable transportation.

Experience with computers and paperwork is preferred but not required.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

Responsible for cleanliness throughout the hatchery building.

Clean/sanitize machines, tables, floors, ceilings, etc.

Transfer eggs from setters to hatchers.

Make boxes and other general duties.

Handle day-old chicks in accordance with welfare standards and standard operating procedures.

Meet all of the operating procedures as outlined by company policy.

Prepare newly hatched chicks for sexing and farm delivery.

Perform other duties as assigned.
