Machinist Trainee

Full-Time Position | $18.25/Hour | 2nd Shift | Springfield, OH

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM | Overtime available on Fridays as needed

Position Overview

We're seeking a motivated individual to join our manufacturing team as a Machinist Trainee. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a skilled trade career with comprehensive hands-on training. You'll learn to operate precision machining equipment while developing the technical knowledge and problem-solving skills essential to modern manufacturing.

What You'll Learn and Do

Under the guidance of experienced machinists, you'll receive training to set up and operate Acme machines with complex tooling configurations. You'll learn to read and interpret technical blueprints and process documentation, regrind specialized recess tools and carbide tooling, and diagnose machine issues to implement effective corrections. As your skills develop, you'll contribute to programming refinements and process improvements while maintaining production standards according to established procedures. You'll also perform routine machine maintenance and uphold cleanliness and organization standards in your work area.

Requirements

Education & Skills:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong mathematical aptitude, including proficiency with fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages
• Previous manufacturing experience is helpful but not required—we provide comprehensive training
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods (6–12 hours per shift)
• Capability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently throughout the shift
• Reliable transportation to and from the facility
