Express Employment is looking for a Millwright or Electrical Journeyman to join our client in Delta. This is a full time permanent position. You will be responsible for installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment on the food production line!

 

Character & Abilities

· You are able to lift up to 23kg.

· You are multitasker who can juggle priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· You pay extra attention to details and have excellent hand-eye coordination

· You can make sound and safe judgement

· You are independent operator that requires minimal supervision

Skills & Experience

· You have 3-5 years of relevant experience in a busy plant environment

· You have Red Seal Millwright or Electrician certification.

· You have a strong background in electrical diagnostics and repair

· You have experience and ability to troubleshoot PLC and program logic an asset

· Working Knowledge of HMI as they relate to processing, filling equipment in a food-manufacturing environment

· You have strong computer skills including MS Office Suite

· You have excellent mathematical and mechanical skills

· You have great interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

Things you will do…

· Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures

· Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions

· Operate hoisting/lifting device and operate machine tools as needed

· Install, align, take apart, and move stationary industrial machinery/mechanical equipment using appropriate tools

· Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts

· Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery

· 9- or 12-hour shifts, depending on scheduled shift

· 36-hour regular work week schedule

· Shift start and end times will vary, with Days, Afternoons or Evening Shifts

Detailed Description of duties:

· Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures

· Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions

· Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks and tractors, to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery

· Install, align, take apart and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools

· Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts

· Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery

· Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls

· Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery

· Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation by using hand and power tools and welding equipment

· Other duties as assigned

 

Experience:

• Manufacturing: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Red Seal certification in Millwright or Electrical (required)
