DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY FOR ACCOUNTANT

Our client, a well-established construction company located in Oakville, is looking for a Direct Hire, Permanent, Accountant to join their team!

Key responsibilities:

• Manage full cycle accounting including payables, receivables, journal entries etc
• Bank and credit card reconciliation
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries as required
• Assist in the preparation of cash flows for the project
• Assist with audits – financial, internal control and tax
• Communicate with Project Managers with regards to billings
• Assist controller with processing payroll when needed 
• Other general duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in full cycle accounting, ideally in a construction environment
• Experience with Jonas software is a must
• Completion of post-secondary Accounting Diploma/Degree
• Strong proficiency in MS applications including Excel, Powerpoint, Word
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles & practices and financial reporting
• Outstanding punctuality, ability to keep up with deadlines and work under pressure and changing priorities
• Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
• Ability to work in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines
