Construction Laborer

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced and versatile Construction Laborer for a local company in Cape Girardeau, MO. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background and be comfortable performing a variety of skilled and general labor tasks across different areas of construction, including concrete, carpentry, drywall, and more.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor and assist skilled trades as needed.
• Work with concrete, including mixing, pouring, finishing, and related tasks.
• Perform carpentry, framing, drywall, and general building repairs.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, structural welding, and other construction-related work as qualified.
• Operate various construction equipment and machinery safely.
• Safely use hand tools and power tools.
• Load, unload, move, and stage construction materials.
• Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
• Follow project plans, instructions, and established safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with demolition, cleanup, material handling, and other jobsite duties as assigned.
• Work effectively with supervisors, contractors, and other members of the construction team.

Job Requirements

• Previous construction experience is required.
• Broad experience in multiple areas of construction is strongly preferred.
• Experience with concrete, carpentry, drywall, plumbing, electrical, structural welding, or heavy equipment operation is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate and work around construction equipment.
• Proficient with common hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work.
• Strong understanding of construction jobsite safety.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
• OSHA certification is a plus.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
