Position: Machinist

Wage: $22/hr - $24/hr (DOE)

Description: Express Employment Professionals is seeking a machinist who will operates machinery and equipment such as manual lathes, CNC lathes, CNC mills, and drill presses to machine parts to specifications using precision tools. Mazak experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• First Shift (Monday through Friday from 07:30 am to 04:00 pm)
• Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations
• Review job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero, reference points, offsets, and compensation
• Calculate requirements, including dimensions and tolerances, using basic math and geometry
• Confirm adherence to specifications through use of gages and measuring instruments, including micrometers, ball mic's, pi tapes, and calipers
• Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material onto machines
• Monitor the machine operation to detect material defects or machine malfunctions
• Evaluate procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to set up and production
• Perform regular cleaning and minor maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
• Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
• Operate any equipment needed to perform the job
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
