Laundry Associate

Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking dependable and hardworking Laundry Associates to support the daily laundry operations with a local company in Cape Girardeau, MO. The Laundry Associate will be responsible for sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and other hospital laundry while following strict cleanliness, infection-control, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sort soiled hospital linens and laundry according to established procedures.
• Load and operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment.
• Fold, inspect, and organize clean linens and laundry items.
• Deliver clean linens to designated hospital departments.
• Collect and transport soiled linens using appropriate carts and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area.
• Follow hospital infection-control, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Properly handle and dispose of contaminated or potentially infectious materials according to hospital guidelines.
• Inspect linens for stains, damage, or excessive wear and remove items that do not meet quality standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory and restock linen supplies as needed.
• Follow all workplace policies and supervisor instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous laundry, housekeeping, hospital, healthcare, or industrial experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move laundry carts and supplies as required.
• Must be able to follow all hospital safety and infection-control requirements.
