Production Operator

Wheeling, IL Production Operators to join their team! This is a6/9mo ( with the possibility of extending )

Responsibilities:

• Perform finishing work using grinding tools, hand sanders, knives, and other manual equipment.
• Sharpen corners and edges, buff surfaces, and polish finished parts.
• Load and unload parts into rotating machinery.
• Maintain accurate counts of machined parts.
• Clean, wash, and tumble parts as required.
• Operate grit/sand blasting equipment — training provided!
• Inspect finished parts using visual and manual inspection equipment.
• Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
• Cross-train in a variety of jobs within the Secondary Department.

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday
• Night Shift: 4:30pm-3:00am
• 10-hour shifts
• Flexible start time between 4:30pm-6:00pm
• Occasional weekends may be required
• Must be available for 4-6 weeks of initial training on 1st shift, 6:00am-4:30pm

Pay:

• $17-$19/hr DOE

Requirements:

• 1+ year of machine operator experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the entire shift.
• Basic math skills for counting parts.
• Good manual dexterity in both hands.
• Ability to read English and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work as part of a team and cross-train in different areas.
• Blueprint reading experience preferred.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, or other inspection tools is a plus.
