Maintenance Mechanic

Located in McAlester, OK

Salary: 16.00+

Express is currently hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for local manufacturing plant.

Position reports directly to the Plant Engineer.  The focus will be to maintain process, plant and support equipment through installation, upgrading, repair and preventative maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.  There will be interaction with this and other departments which requires communication at company levels.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance on process, plant and support equipment.
• Perform repair on process, plant and support equipment.
• Conduct audits and inspections of plant equipment.
• Make roll changes as needed.
• Be on rotating call for 24-hour coverage.
• Subject to some overtime and weekend work.
• Maintain an effective support role in the Mechanical Maintenance shop.
• Communicate effectively with all other personnel.
• Work shift work if/when needed
• Support Plant Safety Programs
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Engineer.

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent daily basis
• Must wear personal protective equipment furnished by the Company
• Walking and standing for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to physically move around the plant and all production equipment to perform duties
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform all duties to meet the requirements of Maintenance Mechanic

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma of equivalent
• Mechanical background required.
• Must have excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Ability to read and comprehend machine drawings.
• Must demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong teamwork relationships.
• Use of welding and cutting equipment helpful.

 

Rotating shifts - day/night shift - $16+/hour(depending the experience)
