Front Desk Associate
SUMMARY:
Accommodates guests of hotel while displaying the highest standards of quality guest service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Responsible for counting cash, maintaining accuracy of issued cash drawer at the beginning and end of each scheduled shift.
- Daily checks the front desk log for problems, special requests, etc.
- Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests. Correctly codes and provides guest key cards.
- Transmits and receives telephone messages when necessary.
- Works diligently to ensure arrival dates on reservations are correct. Checking 3rd party reservations as necessary.
- Communicates all information to the following shift to ensure a smooth transition.
- Works closely with all hotel departments to ensure the highest quality of customer service.
- Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests; and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions. Explains in-room and hotel features.
- Responsible for completing all required shift paperwork and reports as assigned by management.
- Responsible for completing all end of shift cash closing procedures.
- Keeps records of room availability and guests’ accounts.
- Computes bills, collects payment, and makes changes for guests.
- Makes and confirms reservations.
- Posts charges such as room, food, liquor, or telephone to ledger.
- Completes daily-required shift checklists.
- Walk through of first floor to maintain the safety of building.
- Must wear required uniform. Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience. Must possess strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers.
