Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support two busy attorneys in our Gulfport office. This is a foundational role within the firm, responsible for the organized flow of discovery documents, client records, and claim setups. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who understands legal terminology and the critical nature of deadlines in a litigation environment.
Key Responsibilities

Case Development: Initiate and set up new insurance claims, ensuring all initial file documentation is accurate and complete.

Records Procurement: Formally request and track medical bills, medical records, and police reports from various agencies and providers.

Digital Archiving: Scan, code, and upload high volumes of legal documents into the firm’s centralized database with meticulous attention to detail.

Attorney Support: Assist two primary attorneys with calendar management, client communication, and the preparation of basic legal correspondence.

Database Management: Maintain organized digital and physical files, ensuring all records are easily retrievable for trial or settlement preparations.
Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role is required.

Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including experience with document management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Confidentiality: A deep understanding of attorney-client privilege and the handling of sensitive HIPAA-protected information.
