We have an opening for an Extrusion Operator position working at a company located in Hartselle, AL that manufactures plastic and magnetic components (gaskets, seals, tubing, etc.) for the appliance industry. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.

 

Skills/Qualifications

Must be able to measure lengths and read a ruler accurately.

Must be able to read, interpret, and follow written instructions, schedules and specs.

Must be able to understand and visually detect defects.

Must be mechanically inclined with good trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.

Must be a self-starter, be a team player with a good positive attitude, good verbal and written communication skills and maintain good attendance.

Must be available to work overtime (including Saturday) as needed.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

Operate profile extrusion equipment to produce plastic rails.

Load scrap pieces into grinder for re-processing.

Load splice tables with rails for splice operators if working in team set up.

Maintain profile to proper shape and size, set/adjust cutter if applicable, verify proper dimensions using an optical comparator.

Maintain lengths with use of a tape measure or digital scale.

Perform startup, shut down, screen change, color changes, die cleaning and other mechanical adjustments.

Operate iPad for retrieving schedule of operation of your order information to run and entering completed rail totals.

Printing off correct labels.

Maintain clean and organized work area.

Additional work as assigned by shift supervisors.
