Salary: $20 - $28/HR BOE

We are currently seeking skilled and experienced Structural Steel Shop Welders to join our clients team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel components according to specifications. This is a full-time position offering a starting pay rate of $18 per hour, dependent on experience (DOE).

Responsibilities:
Layout, position, align, weld, and fit parts for steel fabrication, ensuring conformance to specifications.
Verify work piece conformance to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on project requirements.
Interpret blueprints to identify weld symbols and follow welding procedures accordingly.
Operate angle grinders to prepare parts that require welding.
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
Maintain welding equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Ensure that work is performed safely and meets quality standards.
Keep the job site clean and organized at all times.
Operate fabrication equipment, such as Jib cranes, overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks.

Requirements:

Must pass a MIG weld test. The test consists of a guided bend test with two one-inch 3x6" plates, one beveled and one squared. Must be able to perform a full pin test with back gouge.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
