We have an opening for a Finisher/Grinder position working at a company located in Tanner, AL that manufactures custom-built products for detention facilities. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.

Skills/Qualifications

Previous grinding or metal finishing is a plus.

Must be willing to work in a non-climate-controlled work environment (hot/cold).

Ability to stand for extended periods of time (8 to 9 hours).

Ability to lift up to 50 lb. unassisted.

Must have a working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writing.

Must be capable of working an entire work week on a consistent basis.

Must have reliable attendance and punctuality.

Must be willing to wear PPE when necessary.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

This job involves the manufacturing of detention-grade containment structures, furniture and fixtures.

Use a hand-held grinder to smooth out welds and other imperfections on metal parts/structures.

Select the appropriate grinder accessories and settings for the type of welds/materials to be finished.

Safely lift, position and secure workpieces onto work surfaces and/or into clamping devices.

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.
