Warehouse Technician

Located in Sarnia, ON

Salary: $25.00/hour

Job summary: The Warehouse Technician will be responsible for interacting with Operations and Maintenance to ensure that inventory fluctuations are processed in order to maintain an accurate inventory database and appropriate identification of critical spares, supporting the QMS, ensuring all critical parts are available and easily accessible for the Maintenance and Operations departments by optimizing the space available to streamline the ability to locate and reorder the stocked and non-stocked material, working with the Maintenance department in identifying and developing effective bills of materials to improve the reservation and requisition of materials, identifying and implementing cost reductions by removing obsolete and duplicate material in warehouses, determining the deposal of identified material, ensuring that correct levels of inventory are maintained to balance maintenance and financial concerns, maintaining a realistic level of consumable items by regularly reviewing requirements with maintenance departments, conducting warehouse operations such as shipping/receiving and forklift operating, conducting physical inventory counts annually to ensure compliance, providing support for the execution of planned outage by working with other departments to ensure all outage related purchase orders and materials are tracked, maintaining and verifying inventory of spare parts, managing physical distribution of materials, coordinating shipping and deliveries to meet site schedules, working with Team Leaders to develop effective order levels to support inventory, maintaining and managing the parts list, understanding parts holding agreements, verifying physical and system receipts of goods/materials and services, resolving PO discrepancies, and ensuring timely receipt and payment of good and services. This position is with a highly sought-after Sarnia employer.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of supply chain management experience 
  • At least five years of plant experience
