The Material Handler - Production Apprentice will begin the apprenticeship progression steps of learning the manufacturing process under the direct supervision of a Senior Operator, Shift Supervisor or Plant Supervisor. The apprentice will become familiar with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures associated with the processes associated with the production of various chemicals.
The apprentice will be required to complete various process logs, weight tickets, material transfer tickets, or other paperwork. Apprentices are routinely expected to monitor various process parameters, collect process samples, and/or run basic analytical tests on such samples. In addition to these duties, an apprentice will also be trained in the material handling process, the shipping and receiving process, moving, loading or unloading tankers and railcars, product packaging and/or labeling.
Apprentices will quickly learn beginning processes/procedures and eventually progress into more senior positions. This future training will allow him/her to provide operational support for any activity in which the company is engaged during the normal course of business.
