Extruder Operator

Located in Neenah, WI

Salary: $19.50 - $21.00/HR

Hours:

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:00pm

3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00pm - 7:00am

Pay: $19.50 - $21.00/HR

Duties:

Operate, monitor, and support plastic extrusion production lines to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met.
Package finished products according to specifications and Quality Control Plans.
Locate and utilize the correct boxes, crates, skids, pallets, and packaging materials for each production order.
Build boxes and crates using pneumatic staplers, nail guns, and hand tools.
Pack, count, label, and prepare finished products for shipment.
Apply labels, barcode identification, and shipping information to boxes, reels, crates, and pallets.
Palletize products according to customer and shipping specifications.
Shrink wrap, band, and secure pallets for shipment.
Read and follow Quality Control Plans, work instructions, and production documentation.
Collect product samples and perform quality checks throughout production.
Measure and inspect products using calipers, tape measures, comparators, and other measuring devices.
Record inspection results and complete production reports accurately.
Notify supervisors of quality issues, out-of-tolerance conditions, equipment concerns, or material shortages.
Maintain proper raw material levels and monitor hopper inventory throughout production.
Measure, mix, and add colorants and additives according to product specifications.
Perform extruder setup, tear-down, changeovers, and screen changes.
Assist with die maintenance, tooling cleaning, and care of precision extrusion components.
Set up cutters, pullers, ink jet systems, and related extrusion equipment.
Produce extruded profiles that meet dimensional and quality specifications.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment upon certification.

Qualifications:

Previous extrusion, manufacturing, machine operation, production, packaging, or plastics experience preferred.
Experience operating extrusion equipment is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret production documents, Quality Control Plans, work orders, and specifications.
Experience using calipers, tape measures, comparators, and other precision measuring tools.
Strong understanding of quality control, inspections, tolerances, and production documentation.
Ability to perform machine setups, tear-downs, tooling changes, and basic troubleshooting.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, staplers, nail guns, and saws.
Forklift experience preferred; willingness to obtain in-house certification required.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
