Automation Technician – 1st Shift

Express Employment is seeking candidates for an Automation Technician position in Dubuque, Iowa.

We’re assisting a local manufacturer in hiring a full-time Automation Technician for 1st shift. This role involves setting up and operating automatic presses, adjusting feeders and straighteners, and ensuring all equipment runs efficiently to meet production goals.

Pay: $24.26/hour
Schedule: Full-time | 1st Shift: 5:00 am–1:20 pm | Overtime: 1:20–3:20 pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize a variety of mechanical and non-mechanical hand tools
• Set dies in all automatic presses
• Load material into cradle and spindle
• Adjust feeders and straighteners for each job
• Configure electrical sensors and feeder stops
• Use micrometers, rulers, verniers, and gauges for quality checks
• Safely operate a forklift as needed
• Produce sample parts for Quality Team inspections
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Proficient with mechanical and non-mechanical hand tools
• Experience setting dies in automatic presses preferred
• Skilled in adjusting feeders, straighteners, and electrical sensors
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as micrometers, rulers, and gauges
• Forklift operation experience a plus
