Express in Caldwell is looking for a Projects and Events Manager.  

 

Pay: $12/Hour

 

Hours: Monday-Friday 8-5 with the possibility of overtime

(Special events may be on the weekend or evenings)

 

General Summary and Purpose:

Coordinate projects and events assigned by the director. These include the Buckaroo Breakfast, Treasure Valley Night Light Parade, Mega Marketing (1), New Member Receptions (2), Gala, and the monthly Noon break Luncheon. Set up, attend and coordinate the above Committees. Sell sponsorships for above events. Support community events and activities. Assist with staff activity, events, members, the City, and Treasure Valley organizations.

 

Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience (minimum of 3 years)
  • Bilingual preferred but not required
  • Demonstrate skill in implementing and coordinating programs, projects and events
  • Sell and create additional sponsorships for events
  • A working knowledge of the department, and other business organizations
  • Written and verbal communications skills are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attention to details and organizational skills are essential
  • Intermediate computer skills preferred
  • Experience in Microsoft software products preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, and fluctuating work volumes
  • Be able to work independently and meet deadlines

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for entire budget and profit line
  • Ensure committees are fulfilling their commitments
  • Assist with obtaining hosts, sponsors, community update speakers, business spotlights, etc.
  • Participate events and community activities as requested
  • Work with Executive Director to establish budget for marketing/promotion of above events, projects an activities
  • Work with Executive Director in growth and expansion of the department
  • Support the community vision and program implementation
  • Provide information for social media, website etc. on projects and events regularly to the Communication’s manager
  • Maintain current information in the master including the volunteers, events and projects associated with this position
  • Work with Publisher and PowerPoint to create flyers and announcements for print and computer needs

 

Other Functions:

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Executive Director or requested by the board
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • Responds to problems or inconveniences encountered by members, customers, or visitors and acts in their best interest by using the resources available and/or asking coworkers for assistance in addressing their needs to their satisfaction
  • Maintain and respects the confidentiality of members, customers and employees by accessing and/or sharing only appropriate and necessary information
  • Demonstrates teamwork within the department by helping team members as well as working cooperatively with members, the City of Caldwell, Economic Development, Urban renewal, County and other organization
  • Introduces self and explains role. Acts and speaks in a courteous and professional manner with members, customers, visitors and coworkers by making eye contact, smiling and speaking respectfully
  • Acts as an ambassador of the department by consistently being “on-stage”. Takes ownership of the facility’s appearance, equipment and safety issues by immediately addressing spills, retuning equipment to its proper location, etc.
  • Identifies and assists members, customers, and visitors with way-finding, obtaining assistance from them, or providing them with clear directions

This position requires walking, and measuring distances, standing at events and ability to withstand changes in the weather as many events are held outdoors. Must be able to lift up to and move objects of 50 lbs.
