Troubleshoot, repair and perform routine electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment throughout the facility.


Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, PLC’s and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.

Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of all systems.

Actively contributes to lean initiatives, by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement. Effectively applies lean concepts and tools in work area. Observes all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work area. Trains and mentors less experienced team members. Performs other responsibilities, as requested.


Five or more years of electrical experience in a industrial environment.

Handles multiple tasks with changing priorities to meet customer needs.

Reads, understands, and follows blueprints, complex drawings, engineering specifications, and informal written or verbal instructions. Able to implement lean initiatives.

Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment on research and solution development.

Possesses effective mentoring and training skills, and ability to serve as a resource to other team members.

Interpret reports and uses job specific software applications. Able to use employee self-service systems to access on-line information and use specialized automated systems (i.e. CMMS, e-mail).

Experience working in automotive manufacturing.

Familiar with Six Sigma quality standards.


Minimum 5 yrs. experience as journeyman electrician.

Certificate from recognized vocational or technical school or equivalent apprenticeship.


Travel is not required.

Possess valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport if required.

Required to wear proper safety equipment when/where necessary.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Noise level is moderate.


Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must pass any pre-employment tests. (if applicable)

A current/valid State of Florida Driver License.

Ability to be contacted via a current & working phone number at all times during employment.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write in English simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in English in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time.

The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
