Primary Function:

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the Order Picker is responsible for filling and delivering customer orders to the shipping dock, in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security and productivity.

Responsibilities:

Gathers and distributes customer orders with 100% accuracy.

• Proficient usage of the Warehouse Management system / RF Scanner to include scanning order line items under general supervision.
• Comfortable taking order instructions via a headset
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders in cartons or places them on carts.
• Mark cartons with identifying information as necessary.
• Conveys materials and items to designated area(s) by hand, hand truck, or electric pallet jack.
• Performs general housekeeping as needed.  Maintains a safe, neat and clean work area by adhering to safety regulations.
• Accurately and efficiently meet minimum production standards and accuracy requirements.

Requirements:

• High School Education
• Excels in time management, multi-tasking and balancing multiple orders at one time.
• Demonstrates the ability to follow directions and change priorities or job duties as business needs require; rotate to other department functions as needed.
• Must be able to read, write, and have sufficient English reading ability.
• Basic math skills necessary.

Other Job Demands:

• Some overtime and Saturdays required when needed.
• Willing and able to work in a hot and cold warehouse environment.
• Extended periods standing / walking / bending / stooping / kneeling on concrete floors.
• Must have the ability to safely and efficiently operate powered equipment such as electric pallet jacks
