Production Assistant - 1st Shift

Our client is seeking 1st Shift Production Assistants!

 

Schedule:

Monday - Friday from 7a - 3:15p

 

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment after proper training.
• Prepare reagents following established procedures and priority order.
• Maintain accurate records, including machine performance and product samples.
• Assist with daily equipment setup as needed.
• Participate in shift meetings.
• Ensure production rates and quality standards are met; report and address issues.
• Move materials using pallet jacks and carts.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities such as lean practices, 5S, and DMAIC.
• Complete monthly safety observations.
• Report production, equipment, safety, or personnel concerns to supervisors.
• Seek and provide feedback regarding training needs.
• Support other departments as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Follow all company policies, including safety and personnel guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; chemistry or chemical-handling experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Good judgment, decision‑making, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team; overtime may be required.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with production, R&D, and quality teams.
• Ability to stay focused and avoid distractions.
• Ability to wear a chemical cartridge respirator.
• Ability to lift and transport 40–50 lbs.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Indoor, temperature‑ and humidity‑controlled environment.
• Requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, climbing step ladders, and operating equipment.
• Regular handling of pallet jacks and lifting 40–50 lbs.
• Requires mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and multitasking.
