Maintenance Technician I – $29/hr. – 1st Shift

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Maintenance Technician I for a growing food and beverage manufacturing facility in Temperance, Michigan!

Are you mechanically inclined with experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing or production equipment? We are seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to support daily manufacturing operations through machine setup, equipment changeovers, preventative maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with industrial maintenance, machine repair, or manufacturing maintenance experience who is looking for a full-time, temp-to-hire position with competitive pay and a Monday–Thursday schedule.

Pay Rate: $29.00 per hour

Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, with overtime available Fridays and weekends as needed.

Maintenance Technician Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform machine setups, equipment adjustments, and production line changeovers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist with manufacturing equipment repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections to help ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose production machinery problems and identify potential equipment failures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation.
• Assist with PLC-related troubleshooting and production equipment operation.
• Support equipment maintenance and repair activities in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and repair progress to supervisors and leadership.
• Follow established maintenance procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and equipment safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance and production environment.
• Support production operations by minimizing equipment downtime and maintaining reliable machinery performance.

 Required / Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous mechanical maintenance, industrial maintenance, or machine repair experience preferred.
• Experience maintaining production equipment in a food or beverage manufacturing facility is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to diagnose equipment problems and assist with mechanical repairs.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures and equipment inspections.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of PLC systems and troubleshooting is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

 Physical Requirements & Working Environment

Candidates must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Climb stairs as needed.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Work around industrial machinery, production lines, and manufacturing equipment.
• Follow all workplace safety and equipment operating procedures.
