Yard Operator/Equipment Operator

Located in Edmonton, AB

Salary: $27-$30/hour

An Edmonton client is seeking a reliable Yard / Equipment Operator and Material Handler to join their fabrication shop.

Yard / Equipment Operator Highlights:

• Operate a front-end loader, forklift, hand truck, and other equipment to load and unload material
• Keep the yard clean and organized, including tracking and storing spools
• Follow the production schedule to stay on top of what’s shipping and receiving
• Check incoming material against purchase orders and drawings
• Complete material receiving reports and note any short or damaged product
• Record work order numbers, heat numbers, material grades, and similar details
• Verify and document Material Test Reports (MTRs)
• Create packing slips for outgoing product
• Follow workplace safety procedures and use required PPE
• Perform additional duties as required

Requirements:

• Front-end loader and forklift experience
• Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license
• Knowledge of raw material products and their governing standards
• Organized and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on safety
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English
• Reliable and hardworking

Hours & Wage:

• Monday–Thursday, 4 x 10-hour shifts
• $27.00–$30.00/hour
• Overtime available
• Temp-to-hire opportunity
• Potential to move into an apprentice welder role
