Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Quality Lab Technician for a manufacturing facility in Milan, MI. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in chemistry, laboratory testing, quality assurance, or manufacturing quality control.

The Quality Lab Technician will perform routine laboratory testing, inspect incoming raw materials and finished products, monitor production quality, and maintain accurate test records. This position plays an important role in ensuring products meet established quality standards and manufacturing specifications.

No extensive laboratory experience is required! Candidates with a high school diploma, a basic understanding of chemistry, and strong attention to detail are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine chemical laboratory testing and quality control procedures using established testing methods.

• Test incoming raw materials and finished manufactured products to verify quality and consistency.

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses, including Loss on Ignition (LOI), density testing, and particle sizing.

• Perform random production line quality audits and assist with ongoing quality assurance inspections.

• Collect, label, organize, store, and route raw material and finished product samples.

• Record, enter, and maintain accurate laboratory test results and quality control documentation.

• Identify and report test results that fall outside established quality specifications.

• Assist with laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, and routine cleaning.

• Follow laboratory safety procedures, quality standards, and established testing protocols.

• Collaborate with laboratory technicians, production personnel, and quality management to support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Basic understanding of chemistry and laboratory practices.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

• Ability to accurately document test results and maintain organized records.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Previous laboratory, quality control, quality assurance, production, or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Comfortable working in a manufacturing and laboratory environment.

• Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot and cold conditions, and in areas with elevated noise levels.

• Ability to follow required safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
