Inside Sales Representative

Located in Edmonton, AB

Salary: $70,000/year

An Edmonton client is seeking a motivated Inside Sales Representative to join their team.

Inside Sales Representative Highlights:

• Manage and grow a book of roughly 1,500 customer accounts with an industrial distributor serving the energy sector. About 60% of these accounts have no outside sales coverage.
• Make a minimum of 10 outbound calls per day to re-engage customers, prospects, and inactive accounts
• Use purchase history to spot reorder timing, lapsed buying, and cross-sell opportunities, and reach out before needs become urgent
• Prepare accurate quotes covering products, pricing, margin, availability, freight, and lead times
• Follow up on open quotes and convert opportunities into orders
• Enter orders completely and accurately in SAP Business One
• Protect pricing and margin, negotiate with confidence, and escalate exceptions for approval
• Respond to customer inquiries with urgency and own the follow-up on concerns or late shipments
• Coordinate with operations, purchasing, warehouse, and production to resolve issues
• Partner with outside sales on account plans and share customer insights
• Keep accurate records in line with company procedures and ISO requirements
• Perform additional duties as required

Requirements:

• Experience in inside sales, B2B customer service, account support, or industrial distribution
• Energy-sector experience is an asset
• Sales mindset with the confidence to start conversations and ask for the business
• Comfortable with proactive calling and quote follow-up
• Understanding of margin, markup, pricing, and discounting, and confidence negotiating price
• Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft 365; SAP Business One is an asset
• High school diploma required; post-secondary in business, sales, or a related field preferred
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English

Hours & Wage:

• Monday - Friday 
• 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
• $70,000 base salary
• Profit sharing paid twice a year
• Incentive plan in development, with potential to earn up to $9,000/year
• 80/20 health benefits
• RRSP matching: 3% at 6 months, 5% at 2 years, 7% after 3 years
• 2 weeks’ vacation to start (negotiable), 5 sick days, 3 personal days, plus your birthday off
