About the Opportunity

Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for an experienced Industrial Electrician to join a well-established manufacturing facility in Guelph, Ontario.

This is a permanent opportunity within a continuous manufacturing environment, supporting the safe and reliable operation of specialized electrical, mechanical and automated production equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical and control-system issues, completing repairs and installations, and performing preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems, wiring, motors, drives, sensors and control equipment.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, automation systems and instrumentation.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical drawings and equipment documentation.

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to identify and address potential equipment issues.

• Follow all electrical safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, electrical isolation and testing for absence of voltage.

• Support electrical installations, equipment upgrades and commissioning activities.

• Ensure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable industrial electrical standards.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment concerns, repairs and outstanding work across shifts.

• Work collaboratively with maintenance, production and other trades to support equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario 309A or 442A Certificate of Qualification.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum 3 years of industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, controls, VFDs, PLCs, sensors and automation equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe electrical practices.

• Must be available to work a rotating 3-on/3-off schedule consisting of 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.

• Must have legal authorization to work in Canada.

Compensation & Benefits

• Night Shift Premium: Additional $0.80/hour.

• Weekend and Holiday Premium: 1.5 times the applicable rate.
