Landfill Laborer
Pay: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking dependable individuals to help maintain cleanliness throughout an active landfill site. This is a physically demanding outdoor position that requires extensive walking, climbing, lifting, and working in challenging environmental conditions.
Please note: This is not a typical janitorial or groundskeeping role. Employees will be working directly on landfill property and should be comfortable with strong odors, dirty conditions, uneven terrain, and exposure to wildlife.
Responsibilities
- Collect, bag, and remove trash throughout the landfill site
- Walk long distances across uneven, steep, and potentially muddy terrain
- Climb and navigate hills and slopes safely throughout the workday
- Lift, carry, and dispose of filled trash bags weighing up to 40 pounds
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in assigned areas
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow
- Follow all site safety procedures and wear required PPE
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work on your feet for the majority of a 10+ hour shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
- Comfortable working in dirty, dusty, and muddy conditions
- Comfortable working around strong landfill odors and waste materials
- Must be able to navigate steep and uneven terrain safely
Work Environment
This position takes place on an active landfill and involves exposure to:
- Strong and persistent odors
- Dirt, dust, mud, and outdoor elements
- Steep hills and uneven ground
- Insects and bugs
- Wildlife, including snakes, mice, birds, and other animals (live or deceased)
- Animal waste and other naturally occurring environmental conditions
