Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dependable CDL Class A Driver specializing in specialized heavy haul operations to transport precast concrete structures, beams, walls, and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate brings strong flatbed/step-deck expertise, exceptional load-securement skills, and an uncompromised commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe transportation of heavy precast concrete components and oversized loads to job sites.

• Execute precise tie-down and securement procedures using chains, binders, straps, and corner protectors according to DOT regulations.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily; promptly report maintenance needs.

• Navigate routes safely, adhering to all local, state, and federal transport rules (including oversize permit routing).

• Coordinate closely with dispatchers, site superintendents, and crane operators during loading and offloading.

• Maintain clean electronic logs (ELD) and accurate shipment documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) with a clean driving record.

• Minimum 5 years of recent, verifiable CDL-A experience handling heavy loads and flatbed/specialized trailers.

• Demonstrated expertise in load securement: proven proficiency with chains, ratchets, straps, and heavy-duty tie-downs.

• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, axle weight distribution, and height/width limits for heavy structures.

• Physical ability to handle heavy securement gear (lifting up to 75 lbs) and work in outdoor site environments.
