Composites Molding Technician

Position Summary

The Composites Molding Technician is responsible for manufacturing high-quality composite components using established molding processes, work instructions, and safety procedures. This position requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a production environment while maintaining strict quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate composite molding equipment and related production tools.
• Prepare molds, materials, tooling, and equipment for production.
• Perform layup, material placement, vacuum bagging, and other composite manufacturing processes as required.
• Load and unload molds and production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor molding processes to ensure parts meet established specifications and quality requirements.
• Follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and standard operating procedures.
• Inspect finished components for defects, dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and workmanship.
• Identify and report production, tooling, material, or quality issues.
• Perform basic equipment and tooling maintenance and housekeeping.
• Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
• Use hand tools, measuring equipment, and production machinery as required.
• Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and other production departments.
• Meet established production schedules and productivity requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, composites, aerospace, automotive, or industrial production experience preferred.
• Experience with composite materials or molding processes is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and manufacturing documentation.
• Basic mechanical and mathematical skills.
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements and work in various positions around molds and production equipment.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature variations, and industrial equipment. Proper personal protective equipment and safety procedures must be followed at all times.
