Salary: $22-28/hour, DOE

We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Chemical Mixer / Blender to join a chemical manufacturing company located in the Archer Heights neighborhood of SW Chicago. This position is responsible for mixing raw materials and producing finished products according to established batch formulas and production schedules. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, follows safety procedures, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

1st Shift

 

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, and prepare mixing tanks and blending equipment.
• Read and understand production documentation.
• Add chemicals and raw materials in specified quantities and sequences.
• Safely operate mixers, scales, pumps, meters, forklifts, and other production equipment.
• Package finished products according to required specifications after approval.
• Return unused materials to designated inventory locations and maintain accurate labeling.
• Properly dispose of empty containers and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Complete all required production paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.
• Effectively communicate with supervisors and team members.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English, including safety procedures, operating instructions, material identification, and product formulas.
• Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using weight and volume measurements.
• Ability to safely operate blending equipment, including scales, pumps, meters, and hoses.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred

• Previous chemical mixing, blending, or manufacturing experience.
• Forklift experience and willingness to obtain forklift certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely handle and move 55-gallon chemical drums.
• Ability to lift and manipulate powder bags weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to work safely around chemicals and manufacturing equipment.
