2nd Shift | 4-Day Work Week | CNC Leadership Role | Manufacturing Career Growth

Are you a skilled CNC Machinist ready to take the next step into leadership? A Springfield-area manufacturer is seeking a hands-on CNC Supervisor to lead second-shift machining operations, support production teams, troubleshoot machining challenges, and drive continuous improvement.

This position combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on CNC setup, programming edits, troubleshooting, and employee development.

Schedule

• Monday-Thursday
• 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM
• Full-Time
• Additional hours as needed based on production demands

What You'll Do

• Lead and supervise second-shift CNC machinists and production employees
• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
• Edit CNC programs and support new job setups
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues
• Train and mentor operators and setup personnel
• Improve machining processes, cycle times, and production efficiency
• Monitor quality, workflow, and production performance
• Coordinate tooling requirements and production schedules
• Perform preventative maintenance as needed
• Support 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Communicate production updates with management, maintenance, and first-shift leadership
• Assist with hands-on machining and production activities when needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of CNC machining experience
• CNC setup and machine operation experience required
• Previous manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to edit CNC programs and troubleshoot machining problems
• Strong blueprint reading and quality inspection skills
• Strong math skills including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
• Ability to train employees and manage multiple priorities
• Reliable attendance and commitment to safety and quality

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk throughout the shift
• Frequent grasping and repetitive hand movements
• Regular lifting up to 45 pounds
• Occasional lifting up to 70 pounds
• Ability to work safely around CNC machinery and manufacturing equipment
